Hi. I also seem to have the same problem. I really need to get rid of the file call mstlba.exe and the file that I saw you posted as ietlbass.dll. Is the file ietlbass.dll hazardes to the computer? Should I delete it? I can't however delete the file call mstlba.exe. It appears on my C drive. When I first notice these program, I used spybot and adaware to get rid of it. It seem to stop the blank. on my internet explorer. However I still see the mstlba.exe on my c drive and can not delete it. Please help.

Pieter,

I haven't seen the ad for the diet patch in some time, but something new is happening. For some odd reason, my computer looses it's IP address. The modem I use is a westell model 2200 and the route I use is a Linksys model WRT54GS. I have two computers. One is wired and the other is connected (with WEP 12-encryption). I am running Adaware 6.0 and Spybot S&D as well as have Norton Antivirus and Zone Alarm running. No confliction (or at least none to my knowledge).

However, a couple times, the night prior I will have no problem using my internet, then the following morning, it is gone. I have spoken with the DSL provider (Verizon) and they are telling me that I "ping ok" and that service is being provided. I contacted Linksys, they made sure that I was connecting using a PPPoE. I went into cmd prompt, typed ipconfig/release and then ipconfig/renew. Shut down, restarted, entered into my router through 192.168.1.1 and tried to reconnect and nothing happened. Left for work. Unplugged both my router (power) and turned off my modem. Came home from work, and everything started up fine... Could this be more spyware? I have run adaware and spybot and Norton. The only thing found is "DSO Exploits..." (typically about 5 entries) which I erase everytime.

Also, everytime I shut down my computer, I get an error message that say something to the effect... devldr.dll or .exe could not be found... have I erased something I shouldn't have, and if so, is there a way to remove that error message?

Here is my log file:

DSO Exploit: http://www.safer-net.../en/faq/36.html

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {8B224779-3B0E-4FEA-8AE1-B66C20DD840F} - (no file)

O16 - DPF: {8F24DE00-0D66-4F93-9405-3F21E97AEE99} (TestingCtl Control) - http://esb.alcena.co...ltInstaller.ocx

Can you ask if these are as they should be (hard for me to find out)
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1
O4 - Global Startup: Digital Line Detect.lnk = ?

And if you get a chance to properly read the error message, I will need the exact wording.

Regards,

Pieter

Pieter,

Thank you for the information on DSO Exploit.

I have removed the two files you indicated. See log file further below in this email.

As for the other two in question, I will post a Question on this server for these, as the only other thing I thought to do was to ask Hijack This for information on the two other points you wanted clarification on: You probably already know this anyway.

R1: A registry value that has been created and is not present in a default windows install nor needed, possibly resulting in a changed IE search page, start page, searchbar page, or search assistant. (Action Taken= registry value is deleted)

04: This part of the scan checks for several suspicious entries that autoload when Windows starts. Autoloading entries can load a Registry script, VB script, or JavaScriptfile, possibly causing the IE start page, search page, seach bar, and search assistnat to revert back to hijacker's page after a system reboot. Also, a DLL file can be loaded that can hook into several parts of your system. Infected examples:
regedit c:\windows\system\sp.tmp /s
KERNEL32.VS
c:\windows\temp\instal.js
rundll32 C:\Program Files\NewDotNet\newdotnet4_5.dll,NewDotNetStartup
(Action take: registry value is deleted)

The exact wording is such for my problem when I shutdown windows:
devldr32.exe -DLL
The application failed because the windows station is shutting down

Here is my newest log file... and if I get further information on those two points, I will provide you the information!!!

thanks,
---RJM
