When i turn on my computer i get an error message on screen that keeps popping up on top of itself (up to 50 times) over and over. I have to remove them all one by one before i can continue. It has the letters UKC in the Blue bar at the top, and in the box it says Failed to load Web Control from . Your version may be outdated.....etc there is an 'OK' to click at he bottom of the message. It's driving me nuts. We have five user accounts on our computer and it does it on all of them at first use after switching on computer. I am new to geeks to go, but i read your 'read this before you post a hijack this log' page. I did the ad aware and spybot etc. but after rebooting still getting this error message. I have saved a hijack this log and would love someone to help. I tried searching for this problem but must be doing something wrong when performing search as keep getting 'error occured' HELP PLEASE :tazz: from angiem78

Please scan with Hijack This again and post the contents of the log back here for review, and await further instructions.

Hello again
Looks like its worked!
You know your stuff. Here's the new log
Thanks again, will I have to do the same with each user account or will it work for everyones? I'll post back if the other users still have it on their pages to see if I can use the same instructions or if I will need different ones for each.
Anyway, as I said, here's the new log

Log looks clean, lets just do a couple more things to clean up with now.

Please run a free online virus scan here: Needs to be run with Internet Explorer.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm

And a free trojan scan here: (you will have to download the 30 day trial of "The Cleaner" here)
http://www.moosoft.com/

Reboot your PC.

Spybot Search & Destroy Download and install. Start Spybot S&D, Click the Search for updates button, if any are found then click the Download Updates button. After all updates are downloaded, click the Check for problems button. When the scan is complete, place a check next to anything marked in red, then click the Fix selected problems button. You may need to run Spybot S&D multiple times to remove all infections.

Download Ad-aware from:

http://www.geekstogo...n=download&id=5

Install the program and launch it.

First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Next, we need to configure Ad-aware for a full scan.

-> Click on the Gear icon (second from the left) to access the preferences/settings window

1. In the General window make sure the following are selected:
  • Automatically save log-file
  • Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal
  • Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
2. Click on the Scanning button on the left and select :
  • Scan Within Archives
  • Scan Active Processes
  • Scan Registry
  • Deep Scan Registry
  • Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s
  • Scan my Hosts file
  • Under Click here to select drives + folders, choose:
  • All of your hard drives
-> Click on the Advanced button on the left and select:
  • Include additional process information
  • Include additional file information
  • Include environment information
  • Include additional object details
-> Click the Tweak button and select:
  • Under the Scanning Engine:
    • Unload recognized processes during scanning
    • Include basic Ad-aware settings in logfile
    • Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile
  • Under the Cleaning Engine:
    • Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
-> Click on Proceed to save the settings.

-> Click Start and on the next screen choose Activate in-depth Scan at the bottom of the page and then choose:
  • Use Custom Scanning Options
-> Click Next and Ad-aware will scan your hard drive(s) with the options you have selected.

-> Save the log file when it asks and then click Finish

-> When finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose Select All from the drop down menu and click Next).

-> Reboot your computer. How are things running now?
