What, so when people go to www.yoursite.com/member it comes up with a password that you need to view that page?
Does your website have a control panel?
Because on some control panels it has a feture allowing you to do this.

You can password protect a page with javascript, just search on google, but as for the ability to register, I don't think that would be very easy to do, unless you use a premade forum or something of the sort. If it's only one page, I think you'd be better off using javascript.

You can have a look at my web host http://www.centricahosting.com.
I know that their prices are expensive, but they sell a special eBay plan for only £5.95 a year and you get unlimited everything!!!
I am with the £5.95 a year one!!
There is one selling on ebay here!
Really great service, and you get the password page feature where you can assign passwords to pages on your site!!

if you go into your cpanel a lot of them have the option to password protect a page and you can add the usernames and passwords.
