ipconfig /release not working ? |

i could not get a pc to connect to the internet today via ethernet. when i plugged my labtop in it worked fine but the pc just come up with the typical cannot find server error. i also wasnt able to release the ip. when i whent into network connections and tryed to repair it i got the error connot release ip, any help appreciated

press start, then run, then type "CMD" (without the quotes), then type "ipconfig /all" (again...no quotes) and post the results (don't worry about the info shown...this is your private IP so it's not accessible from the outside)
