mfc 71dll?

hello.

i do not know much about computer so im hoping someone here can help.

problem:
i have an HP pavilion dv7-1232nr, 64 bit home premium version.
i want to update my music recording software sonar8 ,with a patch but when i try to install the patch i get the following message



C:/Windows/System32/mfc71.dll
an error occurred while trying to replace the exsisting file
deletefile failed;code 5
access is denied



how can i resolve this? thanks for any help.



ps im new so if i have posted this question in the wrong place please inform me.

Your best option is to contact program's vendor.

It may be that a particular program is using the file.

Try to close any instance of the program through task manager and try again.

If you want to see which processes are using the file install Unlocker

Right click on C:/Windows/System32/mfc71.dll and click on "Unlocker"

It will come up with a new window to show processes using that file.
