Hi there all, im planning to build a Micro-ATX PC for ease of transport. Its just for music, media, etc, no gaming. I dont know much about building PCs, ive only built one before, but here is what i came up with:

Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H GeForce 7100 Micro-ATX (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E2200 "LGA775 Core 2" 2.20GHz (800FSB)
OCZ 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2
Western Digital Caviar Blue 320GB SATA-II 16MB Cache

What do you guys reckon?

I'm a bit stuck on cases as i dont really have a clue as to how big a power supply i will need for it...any ideas?

all the above comes to around £185, looking to spend around £250-£300, so any thoughts about impoving the build etc would be awesome.

thanks

Hi there,

I can't remember many sites that use the £ symbol (I even had to copy and paste that!), so I've used dabs.com for links. Make sure you double-check prices across sites. wink.gif

This one comes with an Antec Earthwatts 380W PSU, it's a good PSU but is going to be a limit if ever you decide to upgrade later on. I actually have one of these PSUs sitting on the desk next to me right now, I'm trying to fix an old beast I have lying in the garage at home...

This came to a total of £297 including postage.

Case and PSU: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=4P92
Motherboard: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=4M62
CPU: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=5335
RAM: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=4KZC
HDD: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=57Q2
DVD Burner: http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=57S6

It's a very basic box, but should do the job nicely. Don't forget you'll need to add and install your own operating system to this build as well.

Cheers

Troy
