Hi guys,

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [kobamupabi] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\jihawofo.dll",s everytime when i delete this in registry, it will re-appear. malware detected this. after i remove it, it will re-appear again. and everytime i restart my computer, there is this error message, rundll32 can't find this jihawofo.dll. i can't find this information on the net. i guess it's new? i then did a scan using HijackThis. i'll attached it here. Hello
Download OTScanIt2.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt2 on your desktop.
Use the Add Reply button and post the information back here in an attachment. I will review it when it comes in. The last line is < End of Report >, so make sure that is the last line in the attached report. Make sure you attach the report in your reply. If it is too big to upload, then zip the text file and upload it that way |

Thanks so much for the help
i did paste the code onto OTscanit2 and fix it. the first round, it prompted some error on otscanit2.dll not valid or something, after i click ok, it reboots the system. after windows has started, a log was shown on the screen - 12012008_154028.log * no more "rundll jihawofo.dll unable to run" error message upon starting windows then i paste the same code onto OTscanit2 again, and fix ot. this round, no dll error, everything ran smoothly, at the end of the fix, it rebooted the system. after windows was started, a log was shown on the screen again - 12012008_154517.log * no more "rundll jihawofo.dll unable to run" error message upon starting windows then the final step - the custom scan the log is OTScanIt.Txt thanks again ps: don't know why the system can't accept log and rar attachments, so i zip both the 2 log files and 1 txt file, thanks.

Hello
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Extra Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly. Go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

Hello
Please download the OTMoveIt3 by OldTimer or from here.
Note: If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. In this case, after the reboot, open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

Hello
Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
Note: to restore your registry, go to the folder and start ERDNT.exe 1. Please re-open HiJackThis and choose do a system scan only. Check the boxes next to ONLY the entries listed below(if present): O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\Run: [kobamupabi] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\jihawofo.dll",s (User 'LOCAL SERVICE') O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-20\..\Run: [kobamupabi] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\jihawofo.dll",s (User 'NETWORK SERVICE') 2. Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, including browsers, so that nothing other than HijackThis is open, then click Fix Checked. A box will pop up asking you if you wish to fix the selected items. Please choose YES. Once it has fixed them, please exit/close HijackThis.
Also post a new HJT log |

Your logs are clean
Your using an old version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, this can leave your pc open to vulnerabilities, you can update it here : http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Now we need to create a new System Restore point. Click Start Menu > Run > type (or copy and paste) %SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe Press OK. Choose Create a Restore Point then click Next. Name it and click Create, when the confirmation screen shows the restore point has been created click Close. Next goto Start Menu > Run > type cleanmgr Click OK, Disk Cleanup will open and start calculating the amount of space that can be freed, Once thats finished it will open the Disk Cleanup options screen, click the More Options tab then click Clean up on the system restore area and choose Yes at the confirmation window which will remove all the restore points except the one we just created. To close Disk Cleanup and remove the Temporary Internet Files detected in the initial scan click OK then choose Yes on the confirmation window. Below I have included a number of recommendations for how to protect your computer against malware infections. * Keep Windows updated by regularly checking their website at : http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. * To reduce re-infection for malware in the future, I strongly recommend installing these free programs: SpywareBlaster protects against bad ActiveX * SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts. Make sure you are only running one real-time anti-spyware protection program or there will be a conflict. Make Internet Explorer more secure
*ATF Cleaner - Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders. *NoScript - Addon for Firefox that stops all scripts from running on websites. Stops malicious software from invading via flash, java, javascript, and many other entry points. *Keep a backup of your important files - Now, more than ever, it's especially important to protect your digital files and memories. This article is full of good information on alternatives for home backup solutions. * MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well known ad sites and other bad sites. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer, meaning it will be difficult to infect yourself in the future. * Please consider using an alternate browser. Mozilla's Firefox browser is fantastic; it is much more secure than Internet Explorer, immune to almost all known browser hijackers, and also has the best built-in pop up blocker (as an added benefit!) that I have ever seen. If you are interested, Firefox may be downloaded from Here * Take a good look at the following suggestions for malware prevention by reading Tony Klein’s article 'How Did I Get Infected In The First Place' Here *ERUNT (Emergency Recovery Utility NT) allows you to keep a complete backup of your registry and restore it when needed. The standard registry backup options that come with Windows back up most of the registry but not all of it. ERUNT however creates a complete backup set, including the Security hive and user related sections. ERUNT is easy to use and since it creates a full backup, there are no options or choices other than to select the location of the backup files. The backup set includes a small executable that will launch the registry restore if needed. * Recovery Console - Recent trends appear to indicate that future infections will include attacks to the boot sector of the computer. The installation of the Recovery Console in the computer will be our only defense against this threat. For more information and steps to install the Recovery Console see This Article. Should you need assistance in installing the Recovery Console, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you for your patience, and performing all of the procedures requested. |
