hello there... i am new to this site, and i am hopeing you guys/gals can help me. i am not computer literate..but have learned a lot lately.. so be patient with me pleas... i may use wrong terms..or not know exactly where to look for things... but i am quick to learn...

anyway, my computer has a problem... a big issue... it started when i recently tried to copy a disk/ burn it... and the computer shut down... further investigation has revealed a few viruses... heaps of cookies.. which i managed to remove using AVG, XoftSpySE, and Regcure. the computer still crashes... and takes a few attempts to reboot, sometimes coming up with a page asking if i want to go into safemodes etc.. sometimes coming up "overclocking unsucessfull".

anyway, i have also tried to load a few other programs to search for problems, and it crashes during the scans.. most recently i tried ewido anti-spyware.. and yep, it shut down again.

anyway i have read about this highjack this thread info and thought i should try it.. so here goes...

the report....hope you can help me...

luke

Hello Luke and welcome to Geeks To Go

Your problem does not sound like a malware problem. It is however, typical of overheating and the chances are that your CPU fan is not working or has a lack of cool air flow.

Whilst you are here, we can clean up your log, but then you should post over in the hardware forum when someone will take over and find the problem.

Rescan with HijackThis. Close all programmes leaving only HijackThis running. Place a checkmark or tick against the following:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
O9 - Extra button: Arrow - {6814E355-8B53-4E1E-AFF0-048EAC778CEC} - http://www.arrowcomputers.com.au (file missing) (HKCU)
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://www.arrowcomputers.com.au
O20 - Winlogon Notify: WRNotifier - WRLogonNTF.dll (file missing)

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

The deletion of the items above will have no effect on your problem.
