I recently contracted this virus simply by clicking on a link (well, not me personally, but, someone on my computer). In any case, my background was changed to a blue background with a message telling me that my computer is infected with spyware. It also reset my homepage to secure32.html, a file in my Windows system folder. None of my virus-scan or spyware software was able to find anything so I did a search and deleted all files with a particular modifed time (7:22 AM). Here are the .exe files:
a.exe soft.exe paytime.exe rundll32.exe So I deleted these files and most of the problem was fixed. Unfortunately, I cannot change my background --clicking on a different background is just ignored by my computer. I verified that I don't have the display an Internet page as background option checked. Also, my keyboard occasionally stops working and then I have to turn the computer off and back on. I tried a system restore and the did not work. Neither did running Windows self-diagnostic work. I reinstalled my video card driver. I ran McAffee Anti-Spyware, McAffee Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware, and Spybot and deleted what they found. I'd rather finish fixing this manually, if possible, rather than download yet another program unless it's really necessary. I saw the other post for fixing this virus, but since I already killed it myself, I was hoping there would be a less invasive way to get rid of its ghost. Thank you for your help! |

I followed instructions on another thread and did the following:
I downloaded and ran the following in Safe Mode: SmitRem.zip Ewido Anti-Malware Then I ran Panda Scan in normal mode. It found nothing. I can now control my desktop and my computer seems to be running normally. I have posted the SmitRem and Ewido logs below. Is there anything else that I need to do?
