security applications questions

hello,

im wanting to ask for suggestions on other possible applications to enhance win98 security as right now i cannot upgrade to any newer OS. and just have to deal with this elder app. so im hoping i can layer my security and at least hang on until i can upgrade

i have good tools like SWblaster, Ad-aware SE, Spybot,Bitdefender8 and a Jetico firewall all current and updated. and newest shareware Trojanhunter

firewall is getting pounded relentlessly at ports i have never heard of. all from same ip usually but some are masked also.

so any advice/guidance will be as always greatly appreciated. john
