microsoft updates

my internet net explorer crashed and i sent an error report and it took me to microsoft updates and did a scan and said that there where 29 critical updates my computer needed.My question is should i download all these updates or just leave it as it is?

Download them but use the windows update link from start

I hate to bother you again and i appreciate your advice and help.I have downloaded the critical updates and it also says there is 40 updates for windows98 and 98se should i download these too and won't it use up a lot of my memory?

No problem, most of those will be language, are not necessary, and should be listed as optional, if you scroll through there are probably 2 of interest, media player, fast shutdown, but again, even these 2 are optional
