After my computer had automatically finished downloading service pack 2 for windows XP, I was asked to activate windows as a once off thing. So i followed the obscenely simple prompts and did it via the internet. The next time i booted my computer up i was asked to repeat this again, confused i tried another option and did it via the phone. After entering the twenty-something digit code, and yet again successfully activating windows, i rebooted to check if it worked this time. To my disgust every time i reboot my computer i am forced to enter this code.
It has now been over 3 months since this began and i'm quite frustrated. I do not wish to format my computer because i have a 56kb internet connection and it would take a month to download SP2 again. Can anyone help me with this problem?
