Hi All,

I had a trojan problem resolved and then decided to format the hard drive.

Afetr formmatting I booted up with win98 start-up disk and it came up with "FILE \Bios info.inf could not be loaded. The error code is 4108"

Also it showed "CMOS memory is low". I replaced the bois battery and then rest the default values.

Can anyone please offer advice?

BTW This is on a spare computer with pentium 3 pocessor.

Thanks
Jeff

Can you take the new battery out for an hour or so

Is there a reason for not setting the PC to boot from a CD ROM Drive and installing from the 98SE CD

I'm fairly new to computing and was told that after formatting I should run the floppy boot disk with cd in the drive.

I will take the battery out, then try to boot from the cd and let you know, thanks

If you boot the PC and keep tapping the delete key to enter set up, look for BIOS defaults, or fail safe defaults and load those, press F10 to save, type Y to confirm

If you set it to boot from the CD ROM drive it will install straight from the CD
