How can I find out what kind of Ram my system uses? I want to buy more RAM for my pc but I have no idea which one I should buy. & I've looked at Ram online and some mention ddr, sdram, pins, etc. None of which I know. lol. Sorry I'm still trying to understand more about pc's. I think my system uses SDRAM. But if I upgrade I want the fastest and best. My system can only go up to 512MB Ram supposedly (on two chips), thats what some guy said at the pc store when I took it there. I forgot to ask him what type of Ram I need. So I'm trying to look for the fastest 256MB Ram chips. Now if it is SDRAM what is the fastest I can use on my pc? I currently run a p3 800mhz, with 80gb hd. So I want the best ram. the fastest and best for my pc. and i want to find out what ram my pc uses and which one I can buy that will be the fastest.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH TEAM!!!!!

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!

Oh I forgot to mention. I need the best Type of Ram to run audio recording and editing software I use. & I'm gonna buy a vid card soon for 3d gaming so I need something fast. I run audio editing software everyday. It goes by the name of "ADOBE AUDITION". I make a living off of editing. I will benefit more with the best Ram to run this. If you need the sys req for adobe audition to recommend what i need go to www.adobe.com and search for "Adobe Audition".

Thank you.

go to www.crucial.com and input your motherboard make and model (unless this is a name brand computer...in which case enter that info) they will tell you EXACTLy what type of ram is compatable with your system...and they will sell said ram to you at a very decent price

I cant find my computer model on that website.

Would that be because its new?

Intel Core Duo Processor T2300

(1.66 GHz, 667MHz FSB, 2MB, L2 cache)

Could you please direct me in the right direction for RAM for my system?

Download, install and run Everest Home Edition

Click + next to computer then summary

Look on right for motherboard / system memory

On the left, click DMI then on right, click memory controller to get the maximum size and number of slots
