While actively online, other programs (ex. Real and microsoft word) try to connect to the internet to register the program but keep coming back with a message that they are unable to find an internet connection. I know that I am on line because I have minimized my home page before I go into these other programs. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but for the last few months my computer has been kicking me offline several times a day and I have to reboot the computer in order to reconnect. My cable company says that it's the computer - the computer people say it's the cable provider. (Go figure) (I think it's the computer)

Any advice will be much appreciated

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

If, after following the procedures above, the problem persists, return to this thread and post again
