Something takes over 100% system resources periodically that just basically shuts me out. The only way I can free it back up so I can work is if I do a forced shutdown.

I can't find anything alien going on. Task Manager doesn't show me anything odd. It says everything is running but I have no control. But I am suspicious of a virus or trojan.

Can someone look over my hijack this log and tell me if they see anything odd? Of course nothing weird is happening at the moment.

Thanks!

Until the HiJackThis log experts come by to look at your log:

What are the system requirements you have for Win XP SP2. Sometimes on a PC with bare minimums, having the Indexing Service and all the bells and whistles turned on may cause an overload and screen freeze.

I just moved back to Win ME temporarily because of a similar issue when I loaded Photoshop CS2. My HD is a 6 GB drive and RAM is not much more than 300+ Mb. Seems when I got too many programs open, it started causing a problem. Even Defraq had a problem with all programs closed because it needs a certain percentage to function although you can override the warning.

This is probably not much help at this point and hopefully you wont have to wait much longer. You might want to go through the procedures listed in the Malware Section of this forum while waiting to make sure you have covered everything before posting a HijackThis log in that forum if asked to do so.
