I have a dvd drive which I installed today: nec nd 4550-a.
It will read cd's and dvd's but will not write any.

When the disc drive is empty it shows as a DVD RAM drive on the system but once a disc is inserted it shows as a cd drive and reports that a problem was encountered when I try to drag a file onto it.

This behaviour was also seen on my Sony drive in this bay. I thought it was the drive so I bought a new one and the behaviour is the same.

Need help.
Please advise.
