One thing you could try real quick, which may or may not work, depending on if your System Restore is damaged or just overloaded. You could try flushing it out like this:
1. Turn off System Restore.2. Restart your computer.
- On the Desktop, right-click on My Computer.
- Click Properties.
- Click on the System Restore tab.
- Check Turn off System Restore.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
3. Turn ON System Restore. Now see if your System Restore is working again.
- On the Desktop, right-click on My Computer.
- Click Properties.
- Click on the System Restore tab.
- UNcheck Turn off System Restore.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
Sorry, I had to leave.
I found the I386 folder and it seemed to install fine but still wouldn't work.
I also did the other suggestion, turning it off, restarting the computer and enabling it again.
When I click on System Restore:
The System Restore window comes up...
If I try to create from an earlier point, I get no calendar and it will not let me go 'back'
If I 'create' a restore point, it says it did but again, if I try to go into it later, I get no calendar, no restore points, and it will not let me go 'back'
I'm starting to feel like an idiot...sorry.
