I have a winXP pro machine that was on a network, but will now be used as a stand alone system. How to I fix it so that it will automatically log in and not give me a password and id screen?

Yes, it was on a domain. Now it is just on a workgroup named workgroup.

so you logged on as the local administrator and joined the work group correct?
do start > settings > control panel> users > then if it's there choose "change how users log on"
if that's not there can you give us a screen shot of your users menu?
