Hi, I am not very computer savvy so forgive me if this is completely dumb.
I had to get my computer worked on over a year ago. I just recently discovered
they had re-installed windowsXP professional (not authentic) when I had sent
them my windowsXP office disk. I was having problems with my computer again
so I re-installed my authentic version of XP office and in the process lost Word
and Excel which I need. When I bought the computer over 3 years ago it came
with word and excel on it but no disk. I think they have since went out of business.

Have I lost word and excel forever?

Thanks, Jill

Hello Jill C...

Open Control Panel and double-click on Add or Remove Programs. Is your version of Microsoft Office listed in the list of programs? If it is, select it and click on the "Change" button. Try the "Repair" option first. If the repair is not successful, click on the "Add or Remove Features" option, select the feature you wand to install, and follow the prompts to install.

If for some reason neither of these work for you, download and install Open Office as an alternative to Microsoft Office. It's free and performs the same functions.
