IE6 behaving badly, will not load pages, use logons

Thanks for reply Pieter. Only one browser installed, IE as it came. Strictly out of the box, with updates. Have not, to my recall, had any toolbars, helpers, etc installed at all..? maybe yahoo toolbar. Thanks for reply! Still seeking the answer........................((yes I believe the choco mantra does work....))

Have you tried this:

Close all browser windows (including explorer)
Start > Run > type in iexplore.exe /rereg
Click OK

This command only works for IE SP2
