This all started with a new cd rw I out it. First it wouldn't recognize it at all. I was told to make it a slve on the jumpers and that helped, but it took forever to boot up and load windows. If I tried to manually add the cdrw the wizard would freeze. everything froze then...reboot, now cd rw not there again. I've been goin into bios and enabling the drive to have it recognize it....
So, if all else fails, I do a repair...well it goes fine, reboot, Have to set so sees cdrw so can continue setup. Get to installing devices, the keyboard and mouse, and I get a BSOD after a few moments, like 4 min.
I haven't tried safe mode. I'm frustrated and tired of waiting for it to boot up. But I need to do something, what can I do? It's a software hardware issue right? a corrupt driver? Or is it a registry prob. I can't afford to take it somewhere. and would like to do it myself anyway. :tazz:
