Home network problem

I am running XP PRO on both computers. My laptop cannot detect other computers on the workgroup. I reset the workgroup a few times. Other computers do not see the laptop either. I have firewall turned off. connected through cat5e cable. Thnanks

Have you actually enabled File & Printer sharing on the laptop?

can you describe the physical setup of the network?
list makes and models of all devices on the network

also on each machine do

start > run > ipconfig /all

post the results for each computer seperated CLEARLY with Computer1 COmputer2 etc...

Yes file sharing and printer sharing is enabled. I am running DSL and have a linksys router. 3 computers on network alltogether and the other 2 pcs can talk to each other fine on the network only the laptop has a problem. I ran ipconfig/all

I had everything running fine about a month ago with the laptop.

From my laptop when i choose to view the workgroup computers the message \\.... is not accessible. When I choose to view the workgroup computers from my other two PCs it does see the laptop but says \\.... is not accessible. The other two pcs can work with each other fine.

i really do need the ipconfig /all from ALL computers on the network
