iTunes kaput

my friend gave me a data Cd filled with music. she put it on her brother's computer and he was able to upload it to his iPod. I put the Cd in my computer and got about 20 songs on there before the application closed. Now I can't run iTunes at all. I updated the progam not even a week ago, so I don't know why it isn't working. I would like to try and delete the program and redownload it, but I'm afraid I'll lose all my information that way. Any suggestions?

I don't have any issues with viruses or spyware, its just me and my iPod. :tazz:
