It looks almost clean except for this one. Please restart in safe mode by tapping the F8 button on the first startup screen and use hijackthis to fix:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E3215F20-3212-11D6-9F8B-00D0B743919D} - (no file0

Reboot and post a new log to see if it's gone.

Ok! I did that, and that file didn't come back when I rebooted. Here's my (last?) hijackthis log:

Your log looks good. Are you still getting any random pop-ups? <_<

No random popups, but I'm running STOPZilla right now so that may be toasting them.

I'll turn him off and hang around for a bit, and see what happens. <_<

EDIT 1:31 AM: No popups! Even with STOPZilla turned off. I've tested a few programs and everything's running cleanly.

I'll futz around for a day or so to see if any other issues pop up or, inconcievably, if my hopeless computer has been cleaned, and then post the final results. :D

Well I've used the net and other programs, and rebooted and such for a day now, and everything's running more smoothly than it has in a while. It seems all clean. That was fun! :D

You guys rule! <_< I had honestly despaired that there was any combination of programs + live help that could plunger the various nasties out of my computer without paying a technician to come over to my house and do it. I'm really impressed at this site.

I'll definitely be donating. Thanks so much.

We were glad to help and thank you so much for your donation <_<. It will help keep this site up so we can continue helping users with their computer problems.

If everything seems to be working okay you can delete the Hijack This folder.

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use).

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.
