I'm having a severe issue with my computer, and it's only 1 year old, and a few odd months. I'm going to list some info about it below:
Hp Pavillion
CPU - 2.93 GHz
248 MB of RAM
Intel Celeron Processor
XP Home Edition (2002)
Service Pack 2
It's been having some issues with lagging/crashing/freezing lately, EVERY chance it gets. I've been looking into buying more RAM and maybe an external harddrive for it, but I figured I'd come here first, and ask what might be a good idea. It doesn't have many programs on it that take up a ton of space, except for one. It's a 3D instant messenger named IMVU, and it takes 395.00MB to run. This program just recieved an update, so it runs a little better now on my computer, however, it still manages to control the speed at which certain other programs will load when I run it. I don't think IMVU is the issue though. Lately, when I run ANY program, a bubble will come up telling me I'm running "very low on discspace" and it will bring up a cleaning tool. I've gone into Safemode SEVERAL times, and have deleted SEVERAL files and misc. items to free up RAM & space, yet I'm still recieving this warning. It's now lagging to the point of crashing where I have to turn it off VIA soft-off. Does anyone know if getting more RAM would help, or anything hardware'ish installed would help? I'm already at a minimal amount of software programs (some that are from the factory...and let me tell you HP includes a LOT of crud on their stuff...I'm too scared to get rid of any of it, for fear I don't know what it is). If anyone has any ideas, please help.
Thank you
