Hi again,

I have a strange problem with my CD writer [samsung make]...
It ejects by itself during booting and does so by itself no matter how many times i send it back...but no problems during writing time [only thing....i have to send the tray inside, maybe about 10 times]..I use XP SP2...have another cd-drive also..but it works just fine....just the writer has gone mad

Your writer is malfunctioning. Get checked with hardware professionals.

To be exact, the problem lies in the loading mechanism of writer. See, it has a belt which controls the load/eject operation and tends to get loose over time. So, get it changed. It costs very little.

If this does not solve your problem, then you have to surely visit samsung service center.
