display driver error

ive been dealing this these computers(4) for the past couple of days trying to get the video driver/controller to work. its a built machine running on win2k. 256mb ram with a 20 gig hd. i have ati rage pro 128 video card but for some reason, when i go to their website and try to dl the drivers from there, it says "the display driver is not compatible with the display adapters installed in your system" during the exe process.
can you tell me what i should do?
