Mic does not work. Tried to use 2 different ones.
Been through the test with Wxp and Skype.
Been through everything I can find on setting up the mic.
It's not muted. Volume it turned up.

I'm missing something.
Any ideas?

not to insult your intelligence, but are you sure it's plugged into the right port? It's the pinkish looking one.

Since it's likely you have tried that, you can go into your mobo's website and get the latest drivers. Maybe there is one there for your microphone. If not, update the audio driver first, then others and see if any work.

The last thing you could try (as a last resort) get a cheap sound card with microphone port from a company with a great return policy(*cough* *cough* Fry's *cough* :whistling: ) and just plug it into a free PCI slot on your comp. If it works, then you can safely say it's your mobo and return the card. But, lets just start with updating drivers...
