I formatted my Hard disk after facing this problem, but I left one partition containing important data unformatted. This problem has surfaced again. I have posted this topic on this forum earlier too, but in the rules, we are not allowed to reply to our topic, so I am posting it here again. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

My System specs are:

AMD athlon XP 1800+ (1.5 GHz)
256 MB RAM
Windows XP with Service Pack 2
40 GB HDD with 3 Partitions
Internet Explorer Version 6

Very sorry for your wait but we are very busy.
My name is lovethepirk and I will be assisting you.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 onlyDouble-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browserClick Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.

Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Ewido trojan scanner:
  • When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
  • From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
  • After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Boot into safe mode by tapping the F8 key at restart and choosing 'safe mode' from the menu. explained here if needed.
  • When in Safe Mode open up Ewido Scanner
  • Click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run, so time to go get a drink and a snack....
  • If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
  • When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Save this we will need it later.

This is a crucial part...
Make sure you are set to normal startup. Click Start -> Run -> Type Msconfig -> Press Enter -> make sure Startup is set to Normal
Reboot

Post the log from Ewido and a new HJT log.

Regards,

LTP
