I did everything on the intro page and i'm still getting winfix popups and [bleep] popups. Please analyze my hjt log and help me out. I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Welcome to G2G! :tazz:

* Click here to download VundoFix.exe and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
  • You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
  • When VundoFix re-opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
  • Turn your computer back on.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Yea I just found another post regarding this similar issue and I dled that program and it seems to have worked! Can you please just check my hjt log one more time to see if it's gone? Thank you so much!!

* Go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the "Delete Cookies" button to clear all cookies.


* Click Here and download Killbox and save it to your desktop.

* Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Put a tick by Delete on Reboot.
  • In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste the following line:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\yayxw.dll

  • Click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle.
  • It will ask for confimation to delete the file on next reboot and ask you if you want to reboot now.
  • Click Yes and let the computer reboot.
* After it reboots, open Hijack This and click on the "Open the Misc Tools section" button. Click on the "Open Uninstall Manager" button. Click the "Save List" button. Copy and paste that list here.

I stopped getting those annoying popups and my computer seems to be faster again. Thank you so much! Just one more question, can I delete all those programs that I installed now that my computer is clean again? I usually only keep my antivirus and adaware. Please let me know. Thanks!

Yes, you can remove those programs.

* Check this out for info on how to tighten your security settings and some good free tools to help prevent this from happening again.


* Go to Windows update and install all "High Priority Updates".


* Now turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn System Restore back on and create a restore point.

To create a restore point:

Single-click Start and point to All Programs.
Mouse over Accessories, then System Tools, and select System Restore.
In the System Restore wizard, select the box next the text labeled "Create a restore point" and click the Next button.
Type a description for your new restore point. Something like "After trojan/spyware cleanup". Click Create and you're done.
