dvc 305 digital video camera

Please help i got the camera for x-mas and i can't get any pictures off of it. It tells me quickcam not plugged in driver in use by another device. I had quickcam before i had this camera but i deleted it and it's showing my new camera is not plugged in. I have a dvc 305 video camera. I downloaded the software that came with it and the driver that came with it and still nothing Please help this is very frustrating i can take pictures,videos but i can't get it on my comp. Keeps going back to the quick cam. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and i keep getting the same thing
