Mouse wont work

I have a problem. My mouse won't work. It is a ps/2 ball mouse. I have tried 3 other mice and restarted without finding a fix. I think it's a problem with the actual port and not the mouse. However I have not tried it in another computer. Should I just go buy a new mouse? or is this problem fixable. Being 15 without money makes it hard to afford a new mouse. (I've asked my parents they think I did something to mess it up so they won't buy me one) Thanks a lot!
