:tazz: I am having difficulty changing the background picture on my desktop. I cannot not change my screensaver. Up until a couple of months ago, everything worked fine. But now I cannot change my desktop either by right clicking on the desktop and accessing background options that way, or by right clicking on photos and selecting the "set as desktop background" option. Nothing happens, the picture will not change. And, the picture that is there is out of focus, when it had previously been perfectly clear. I am also unable to change any of the screensaver settings, it just won't let me select anything. Please help me, I am so frustrated.

Hi Kerrin73, welcome to Geeks To Go Forums.

You may be infected with malware. There is a virus called "Smitfraud" and also a few "CoolWWWebsearch" that can stop you from changing your desktop backround and also in cases your screensaver.

So please read this: Read This Before Posting A Hijackthis Log (Click on the link)

That will give you steps that will help you clean up 70% of the problems yourself. Then please download "Hijackthis" and run Hijackthis with log. Save the log file here: Malware Removal - HiJackThis Logs Go Here

When you have followed all these steps. A Geeks To Go Staff Member will help you fix your problem.

(Note: Please be patient, the "Malware Forum" is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual.)

Thank you and goodluck. :tazz:
