XP is 99 dollars at the cheapest. thats for an upgrade. Full xp is 199

You may be able to get it cheaper if you buy OEM, although of course you have to buy a qualifying piece of hardware with it at the same time to be legally entitled to it. So it may not work out any cheaper.

OEM means original equipment manufacturer. OEM version of windows is a full version cd with license and key but no fancy box or manual. Last time I bought WXP Pro OEM I was able to find it for $99.00.

I usually build a new computer every couple of months or so. I will buy some of the hardware at this website so i can get the home edition at a decent price.
