I'm new to all this wireless networking ,but Ive managed to gain access to my Xternal maxtor Drive(f) and © on the Main PC and the internet ,from my Laptop(both XP Home) but although Ive Shared my printer by Rt Click share,I cannot get the printer to work from the Laptop wirelessly. It keeps coming up " doc failed to print".Also in my attempt to get all this going( it was Mc Afee Firewall blocking it all before)I have created 2 networks on one workgroup, which when RT clicked I cannot delete one to simplify matters and the printer is on both. its a mess! Should I start Over ? how do I clear all? Thanks

Hi horlor44,

Should I start Over ? how do I clear all?

Let's have a look.. Please goto Start --> Run --> type CMD and press OK --> then type: IPCONFIG /ALL - please post the results here by right-clicking on the Command Prompt window, selecting 'Select All', pressing the Enter key, and then posting on this forum. Alternately, you can save your information to a text file by using the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL > C:\ipconfig.txt -- navigate to that text file, and copy/paste the information from it.

Also, to give us the exact error message, please goto Start --> Run --> type EVENTVWR and press OK --> Now, look under the System and Application logs for any errors and/or warnings. You should be looking for Printer-related errors/warnings, or alternately errors that seem to co-incide with the time that you try to print the document.

Has this printer ever worked from the laptop?
