Hey all....questions, questions and more questions!!

So I have this external Maxtor drive that died....not trying to resucitate it. But I do want to reuse the enclosure with another drive. The enclosure (case) has USB & Firewire interfaces. The internal hard drive was a 160GB ATA/133 DiamondMax Plus drive.

So here's the question....what type of drive can I safely install in this enclosure? There's PATA, SATA...a surfeit of interfaces. Can anyone tell me what type of drive I can install in this case? Thanks a bunch.

It is a standard Parallel ATA drive which some people call IDE drives. Sata drives have a whole different way of connecting up.

Heres a good article on them.
