Zone Alarm is reccomended by The Computer Company, www.freecomputerhelp.info. I think that BIT Defender is a good program, but not in the same league as Zone Alarm.

Zone Alarm = Very easy and friendly, but prone to corruption or setting up wrong. After setting up wrong, it is hard to change. Uses

BIT Defender = Sounds good to me. Online virus scanner very impressive. Firewall is unknown to me.

Sygate Personal Firewall = Advanced, but no problems thus far. I've been having it for 2 years, have not encountered any problems, and blocks quite well. Uses fewer resources than Zone Alarm (not much fewer though.)
