im wodering if someone could give me their opinion as to which operating system is better? ive looked them up and seen the specs differences...but im still not sure which would be better. im not a business owner - im a student so my computer is for personal use. is there any point in upgrading to pro?

From what i have seen XP Pro has better networking than XP Home. Heres Microsofts differences chart.

A few friends of mine like the Pro version because they like gaming on-line and they say XP Pro keeps a better connection.

Save the money, buy home. Most people do not need the added features of Professional.

if you're a student and you can prove it you could also get an educational version of xp (it's usually time limited so it won't be permanent) but it's usually alot cheaper if you're just needing something now..and willing to buy a better version once you get out of school and get a good job with that fancy-doo diploma...
