How do i back up my Hard drive files

I had a problem with my old hard drive, it keep freezing at the Win XP logo screen, so the dell people replaced my hard drive with a new one and now i need the files from the old hrd drive back if some one could help me. I have a winXP SP2 Home edition.please someone help

Hi there vipman4evr.

You will have to ask "Dell" for your hard drive back, so that you can copy the files from there back onto your new one.

You can start the copying of the files by making the old HD a slave and copying the files from there.

I dont know how they do it there, but the computer shops round here if you take back a HD that is damaged they usually copy all the old files on your old HD to your new one.

You will defintly have to request for your Hard Drive back, and maybe you can even ask them to put your old files back onto the new one.
