Internet Explorer Problems, office problems

When i go to internet explorer and click into any of my favorites, i get a message that intenet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Aslo when i try to run excel or word, they show up on my screen temporarily and then i get a message that says, "the application must be installed to run, Please run setup from the location where you originally installed the application......

this has just started happeining for the first time today......... thank you
