Some how my computer will only allow me 16 colors and I cannot change the setting.
Can you help?

Welcome to geekstogo
It sounds like your video driver got corrupted and windows is loading a driver that will only let you get 16 color. do you know what your video card is? or make and model of your pc so we can get you the right video driver to see if that fixes your problem.

Hi Tazz
I have an HP Pavilion with Windows 98
I do not know which video card, where would I find that.
Under system info I found this:

Intel® 810 Chipset Graphics Driver PV 2.1
DISPLAY
This Device Has a Problem:

do this for me right click on my computer a little drop down will show up click on properties a window will pop up click on hardware tab then device manager click on the little plus sign next to display adapters it should show one below it high light that by click on it one time then put you pointer on the highlight and right click a little drop down will show up click on properties a window will pop up click on the driver tab high all in there copy and paste here so I can look at it. this way i can see if you are running the right driver for your video.

Thanks so much
With a little steering by you I figured out that I had 2 drivers and the one interferred with the Intel 810
I eliminated the extra driver and now I have all my colors back
