Hello stamperdawgman and welcome to G2G!

Have you tried reinstalling it or updating to the latest version?
What files are you downloading and trying to play?

Some places like Kazza only let you play their files on their players. The files may be protected. I havent really tried to get around that but, I use 360Share. It's easier, usually when it says you have performed an illegal operation it means their protect files.
