Hello -

I just got my new PC from Dell, and the hadn't hooked the DVD RW up right. At least, it wasn't getting any power. So I hooked it up to a different adapter. Now it gets power, opens, closes, etc, but the computer still doesn't recognize it. The device manager says it's installed, but I have the message "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)".

I've heard of the slave/master thing...but I don't know much about it. Could it be something that has to do with that?

I would undo the wiring you have done and call Dell on a new PC

What else did they miss?
