Whenever I try to install my network adapter my computer unexpectedly restarts and then will not start windows without telling me to restart windows at the last known good configuration settings or in safe mode. I really don't know what else to do, I try installing the adapter exactly how it is suppose to. I have even tried installing the adapter with a different hard drive. Can anyone help me?

are you using the right driver? that sounds like you're trying to load an incompatable driver....on the off chance that it's hardware...make sure that the card is seated properly in the board..

I'm using the drivers off of the software CD that was supplied with the adapter. And I have made sure that the adapter is seated properly in the board. Would you suggest that I download updated drivers from the company's website and install those first, and then go ahead with the installation CD?

I believe that the adapter is no longer good. The reason that I was having this problem was that I had to reformatte my hard drive and reinstall windows after a major system failure. Because before that happened the adapter worked great. Anyhow, I just bought a new a adapter and I've had no problem whatsoever. Sorry to ask a help fix a lost cause, but I really do appricate your time and effort in trying to help me fix my problem. Thanks a lot!!
