:tazz: Please help. I have the DrWatson problem and I can't do anything. I tried to follow steps in other posts but when i download anything like hijack this or ad-aware i cannot open them or run them. My computer just freezes up. Would it help to just reinstall windows if i have everything backed up on disc?

I never would advise that, but it's a good thing you backed everything up.

Why don't you try to run some free tools first:

Please run a free online virus scan here (tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

And a free trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.com/

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic.

I went to housecall and was able to run that scan. It came up with about 100 files that were infected. They were all infected with some kind of trojan and said they were non cleanable. However when I went to moosoft I had the same problem as before. I was able to download the cleaner but when I try to run it or open it my computer freezes and nothing happens. Same thing happens with hijack this so i cannot post a log.

TDS3 from http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/

download & install the 30 day free trial, update it manually as described here http://tds.diamondcs...php?page=update as the trial version doesn't have auto update enabled

then press scan control & tick all the little boxes in the bottom part of that window, press save configuration and then close that window by pressing the red X in top right corner, then select system testing and select full system scan

Run the above scan and the scan from house call again.

Please delete your temporary files. Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)
You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin

Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

I downloaded tds3 but I can't install or run the program. I had my neighbor download it to disk and tried to install it that way but that doesn't work either. My computer just freezes up. I tried to delete my temporary files as well but I can't do that either. Again my computer just freezes up when I try that.

You can go to right click start>>explore>> and find the temporaryfolders and find their contents and delete them that way. See if that helps.

O.K. My neighbor helped me out. The reason I could not run any programs is because I had downloaded Giant Microsoft Antispyware and it must of been corrupt because when I opened the task manager my computer usage was at 100% and when I closed the process from the spyware it went back to normal. So I removed that program and I was then able to follow the steps listed in the forum (I installed, updated and ran ad aware, cwshredder, spybot S&D, AVG, did a windows update and ran hijack this. I also did a windows repair before I did all of this. Computer is working better now. I am not getting the DrWatson message but I still seem to have a few glitches. It won't allow me to open the Control Panel and my internet connection seems very slow. Here is my hijack this log.

I ran hijack this but two of the files that you listed for me to fix did not show up this time:O2 - BHO: (no name) - {DBD57F9A-ADE8-7DB4-DD4A-B28178EFDECE} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\iexw.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [appiu.exe] C:\WINDOWS\appiu.exe

I also could not find these files to delete :\WINDOWS\system32\iexw.dll
C:\WINDOWS\appiu.exe

AVG also keeps detecting a virus called Trojan Hoarse Downloader.Agent 9.BD
and then I hit the heal button and it says problem has been healed but it pops up againt about 1 minute later and continues to do so. I can't seem to get rid of it it pops up when i am offline to.

Here is my new hijack this log. Thank you so much for all of your help!!!!!!!!!!

Turn off system restore and set new restore points. Reboot.

Clean out your temp. files and run the trojan scan again.

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please download and install these programs - don't run them yet!!

Please download and unzip
About:Buster to a folder. Inside the folder is a readme file that has instructions on the use of the program.
AboutBuster MUST be updated before you use it.
Start AboutBuster, click the update button, check for update, drag the box to the side and hit download updates, close the box . Don't run it yet.

Please download and install AD-Aware.
Check Here on how setup and use it - please make sure you update it first.

Download and unzip cwsserviceremove to your desktop. use either link below:
http://computercops....F...oad&id=3002[/url
http://www.mytechsup...rviceremove.zip

Download CW-Shredder at the link below:
http://cwshredder.net/bin/CWSshtreder.exe://http://www.mytechsupport.ca/helpwit...CWSshtreder.exe

Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked.
Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

For anyone using Windows XP, 'Search' will not automatically show hidden files even if your folder options settings are set to do that. Do this so you can see hidden files and folders - click here http://www.davehigha...ds/xphidden.zip to download xphidden.zip. Extract xphidden.reg from the zip file and save it to the desktop. When done, double-click the xphidden.reg and when asked to merge say yes.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here's the fix:

Important Step
1. Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

crlo32.exe

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows. If you dont find this service listed go ahead with the next steps.

2. Reboot into [url="http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406"]SafeMode.[/url <---MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO DO THIS!!

3. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete once => Click Task Manager => Click the Processes tab => Double-click the Image Name column header to alphabetically sort the processes => Scroll through the list and look for:

ntmu32.exe
appnd.exe
crlo32.exe

If you find the files, click on them, and then click End Process => Exit the Task Manager.

4. CLOSE ALL WINDOWS AND BROWSERS Scan with Hijack This and put checks next to all the following, then click "Fix Checked"

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\ycjsc.dll/sp.html#37049

O15 - Trusted Zone: *.musicmatch.com (HKLM)

O23 - Service: Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper ( 6Q'8) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\crlo32.exe (file missing)

5. Delete the following files if present:
If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. if it is uncheck it and try again.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntmu32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\appnd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\msiq32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\ycjsc.dll
C:\WINDOWS\crlo32.exe

(and any other files with the same name that end in .dll, .exe or .dat, you may find them right next to each other, example - appsw.exe, appsw.dll, appsw.dat)

6. Run AboutBuster . This will scan your computer for the bad files and delete them. Save the report (copy and paste into notepad or wordpad and save as a .txt file) and post a copy back here when you are done with all the steps.

7. Scan with AdAware and let it remove any bad files found.

8. Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

9. Double click on the cwsserviceremove and when asked to merge say yes.

10. Run CW-Shredder - Hit the FIX button - let it run and fix what it finds.

11. Reboot into normal mode.

12. Download the Hoster from here http://members.aol.c.../start_corp.asp
Make sure you check "AutoClean"

then reboot and post a fresh Hijack This log to see how we did.

Ignore my last post. I figured it out. I followed all the steps in your last post but I was not able to run the virus scan from trend micro. It would not scan or download or do anything. I tried 4 or 5 times. Everything else seems to be working fine. Here is my hijack this log:
