I'm having a video card problem. I've been trying to get a video card and install it either on my HP Pavilion 522n which is older and my Compaq Presario sr1130nx which is newer.

The Pavilion has only PCI slots, but not enough power to run the PCI geforce gx 5500. So I've sort of given up on that.

The Presario has PCI and an AGP slot according to the website! The AGP slot is billed as being 8x, but my technician via internet said it was only 4x. But the geforce gx 5500 says it's 8x/4x. But it WILL NOT FIT into the computer AGP slot. The plastic hook hooks in and the slots look to be in the right place but the front part will not fit in. Does anyone know what this problem is about?

Thanks in advance. I'm just tech enough to know that I need help here.

Does it look like it should fit or is it physically the wrong size to fit, they are often very tight and older systems corrosion and general muck can get in them make them a bit harder to fit, sometimes they need a fair bit of pressure to get it in, but if it just wont fit then it might not be an AGP card, is this the same 5500 from the other system?

I got the AGP card to fit in the Presario - it just needed a lot of playing with and some force - which I was a little scared to do at first -just shove it in - but now it works great! Thanks so much for your help!
