Hi,

I have two Trojans in C:/systemvolumeinformation/-restore. I did an AVG scan and this is the info it gave me:

Object- C:/systemvolumeinformation/-restore(5A8CAEBF-E1D1-4DA9-BDF8-4B11CDA30E66)/RP4/A0000109.exe:/biprep.exe
Result- Trojan PSW.Bispy.B
Status- Infected, embedded object

Object- C:/systemvolumeinformation/-restore(5A8CAEBF-E1D1-4DA9-BDF8-4B11CDA30E66)/RP4/A0000151.exe:/biprep.exe
Result- Trojan PSW.Bispy.B
Status- Infected, embedded object

AVG does not give me the option of deleting, healing or put in virus vault. How do I rid of these pets off my PC? Or how do I locate these files so I can delete them if that is at all possible. I had read that if I shut down system restore and reboot in safe mode I should be able to delete the Trojans. I did try doing that but AVG still detected them, am I doing something wrong? Unfortunately I am stationed overseas in Germany and we do not have the resources to fix this problem. If I were in the USA I would just take it and have it fixed. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Zswife

I ran the cleaner yesterday and I also ran hijack this and fixed the problems I did have. The cleaner found all the viruses and Trojans that were in my virus vault but the two Bispy.B that are embedded in system volume it didn't detect. I have spybot, spywareblaster, spywareguard, zome alram firewall on my PC so I thought I was well protected. This will be my 5 th day of trying to remove these pests but I have had no success so far. Do you have any more things I might be able to try? Would shutting down system restore, rebooting my pc and then doing a scan with spybot search and destroy do anything?

Thanks so much,
Zswife

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O2 - BHO: NavErrRedir Class - {5D60FF48-95BE-4956-B4C6-6BB168A70310} - C:\PROGRA~1\INCRED~1\BHO\INCFIN~1.DLL

O16 - DPF: {00000EF1-0786-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA} - http://www.netpaloff.../DMO1/aess2.cab

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log.

Zswife,

i think disabling your system restore and then searching for the file and deleting it that way will solve the trojan problem. I am going to check with the other mods and let you know if you should follow through with this.

This trojan is actually a pretty common spyware program, you can find more info here:
http://securityrespo...ware.binet.html

This file is located in a system restore file, to remove it, restart you computer in Safe Mode (by tapping F8 at startup, and selecting Safe Mode from the menu). Next, turn off system restore (this option is in "Control Panel" in the "System" directory). Finally, run an AVG system scan, this infection should be detected and removed. When finished restart you computer in normal mode, and enable system restore. FYI, I don't see any sign of infection by this file, so I wouldn't be too concerned about it, <_<

The Trojans are gone now!!

I shut down and rebooted my computer in safe mode and disabled system restore. Then I did another AVG virus scan and the Trojans were gone. I am guessing that something that y’all suggested I remove from my PC got rid of them. I restarted my computer enabled system restore, did another scan and all is well.

Thank you everyone for your help it is greatly appreciated. What a relief to have the problem solved. Again, thank you for taking the time to help me out.

I tried the method above of starting in safe mode, turning off system restore, etc... but when starting in safe mode, my AVG won't run. Gives me an error... is there something I can do to get around this? Forgive me.. I am very computer illiterate... <_<
