Hi, I finally got accepted into the beta program for Vista last night. I ran home at lunch today and did an install, everything went great but I can't get to any internet sites. I can ping web sites, I can see my XP computer and transfer files back and forth so the adapter is working and Vista is visible on my network. I diabled IPv6 and verified IPv4 has the correct IP address, DNS server, and gateway. I did not get the chance to manually enter the DNS address or connect this system directly to the cable modem but I will try this later. The network adapter (Intel Pro/1000 CT) drivers are loaded and as I mentioned above I can see my network. IE opens and the staus says connecting to www.msn.com (example) but it eventually times out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. PC
I did do a search but found only one topic about this on the forum and it was not answered.
Gigabyte 8KNXP Motherboard v1.1
Intel 2.8 CPU
ATI Radeon XT 256meg Platium
160gig WD hard Drive (no duel boot)
UPDATE: I manually entered the DNS IP and connected it right to the modem but still it will not load web pages. Loaded XP drivers for the network adapter, did not work.
