Hello,

Recently i have been having some issues with windows xp pro.

Sometimes when I tell my computer to restart, and I end up in the blue wondows screen where i get the following message:

"Updates are being installed (1 of 1)"

"Do not turn off or unplug your computer, it will turn off automatically"

I didnt think this was a problem at first, until after I waited 30 minutes for my computer to restart.

The only choice i had was to manually turn off and on my computer, which resulted in going through a scandisk before being loaded onto my desktop. I am sure that it is not "healthy" for my computer to be manually turned off and on while in the middle of a non-ending process it seems.

If anyone could help me resolve this problem, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you

If it is trying to install Windows Updates, boot the PC to safe mode, click start, control panel, security centre, click automatic updates, put the dot in turn off automatic updates, click apply, reboot
